The company was created when David and Rhonda came to a crossroads in life seven years ago. David worked in banking for 17 years, but felt the industry was moving away from the customer service aspects he appreciated. Rhonda suggested they turn their hobby–renting their second home–into a full-time business. Their first year began modestly with a handful of properties. Today, just seven short years later, the company has grown to include over 115 properties under management, several vendor partners and six full-time staffers—many of whom have lifelong connections to the Marciniaks and are now like family.

Benchmark Property Services has created such a satisfied clientele that the team is invited by a repeat guest every summer to join them for their annual family spaghetti dinner!

“When we started, this industry lacked customer service and technology. We were one of the first companies to start using electronic locks, and we emphasized the guest experience over everything else,” says David. “Ultimately, our goal is to help people make wonderful memories in Ocean City—and if we can do that week after week for our guests, then it’s a great season for us, too.”
