East Coast Vets was born out of an idea to bring the Eastern Shore a family-first approach to the healthcare of beloved pets while utilizing the most current approaches to veterinary medicine. Its highly skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate pet-care professionals aim to treat each pet like a family member and ensure that pet parents remain a part of their pets’ medical care and decisions every step of the way.

East Coast Vets is a family-owned veterinary hospital started by spouses Drs. Patrick and Michelle Allen. Dr. Michelle Allen is well known for her compassion and abilities working with feline patients, as well as her experience in addressing both canine and feline dental issues. Dr. Patrick Allen is known for his abilities in performing a variety of surgical procedures on pets, especially the specialized TPLO procedure for dogs with cranial cruciate ligament tears. Dr. Ellen Ferguson is well known for her thoughtful yet thorough approach to internal medicine cases.

“Our dedicated team of nine wonderful ladies (Dr. Ferguson, the two Beths, Kim, Melissa, Megan, Becky, Lexi and Michelle) are truly integral in creating the amazing pet and customer experience we strive for each and every day,” said Dr. Michelle.

“We are also one of only a few practices in Maryland in which all employees are certified in the Fear Free program,” said Dr. Patrick. “Our hospital was also designed in the Fear Free approach to help alleviate stress and anxiety in pets during their visits.”
