The Mai-Ta

The Mai Tai is a classic “tiki”cocktail that originated in California in the 1940s. This drink was created by Victor J. Bergeron, also known as Trader Vic, and has since become a staple in tiki bars and cocktail menus around the world. While many people differ on the perfect Mai Tai recipe we really think you’ll really enjoy this one!

PREP TIME: 5 min

MIX TIME: 5 min

Ingredients
2 oz Appleton Estate 12 Year Aged Rum
1/2 oz Dry Curacao or Cointreau
3/4 oz Fresh lime juice
1/2 oz Orgeat
1/4 oz Demerara Simple (2:1)

Note: Makes one 4 oz. serving

Instructions
Shake the bottle to mix ingredients, and then let it chill in a cooler with ice for at least an hour. Pack mint sprigs and lime wedges as garnish. When you’re ready to serve, just pull from the cooler, shake and pour over ice. You’ll also be happy to know that you can apply this formula to virtually any cocktail that you love.
