Custom closets are one of the most cost-effective home improvement projects one can take on, with an average return on investment of 56%, according to HomeAdvisor.
The Closet Smith was started by Benjamin Smith, a local, second-generation master carpenter, along with his master carpenter father and Benjamin’s two sons. This new service-minded company is a branch of their contracting business, D&S WoodWorks. With a keen eye for detail and more than 70 years of combined experience, The Closet Smith and D&S WoodWorks can handle any and all woodworking needs for local homeowners.
“We’re very excited to assist Eastern Shore property owners with improving their beautiful homes. Our bespoke storage solutions and designs can work seamlessly with any application they may have,” says Benjamin.
One recent project consisted of upgrading coat and linen closets, Jack-and-Jill bedroom closets, a primary closet with awkward wall angles and a primary linen closet with trapezoid-shaped shelves. The Closet Smith team also tackled an en suite with a mechanical chase. Last, but certainly not least, the team created a custom pantry. Its small size demanded an outside-of-the-box approach to maximize the style, feel and functionality of its design.
