Morning, Madeleine!
Morning, Madeleine! Day or Night, it’s hard to resist these delicious part cake, part cookie favorites. Also known as French butter cakes – and they’re so delicious. You’ll love their rich buttery flavor, subtle hint of sweetness, soft texture and iconic shell shape.
PREP TIME: 20 min
COOK TIME: 10-12 min
Ingredients
2 eggs
½ cup sugar
5 Tbsp butter
¾ cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp vanilla
½ lemon, zested and juiced
Instructions
Blend the eggs and sugar together, add the butter and mix well. In a small bowl, mix together the flour and baking powder and add to the butter mixture. Add the vanilla, lemon zest and lemon juice, stirring until combined. Let the batter rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375°. Spray a madeleine pan with cooking spray. Spoon the batter into the pan, filling each mold ¾ full. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until the madeleines are golden brown. When cooled, dust with powdered sugar.
