Melissa Braniff, MSN, CRNP, FNP-C, joined Atlantic General Health System in January 2020 to provide women’s healthcare for the Berlin/Ocean City community. Melissa was a registered nurse for six years, gaining experience in home health and emergency nursing, before earning her Master of Science in Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Wilmington University.
“Growing up in a small town in North Carolina, I realized the impact one healthcare provider can have,” Melissa said. “Now, I strive to provide personalized care with all my patients. I get to meet so many people from the local area, some of whom have never had routine care and cancer screenings. By getting to know the individual, I can get to the root of many of their women’s-health-related medical issues and solve problems, some of which have been going on for a long time.”
Atlantic General Women’s Health Center’s state-of-the-art facilities provides women with a wide range of health services — from gynecology specialists to diagnostic testing, biopsies and minor surgical treatments. For Melissa, the most rewarding aspect of her work is being able to form meaningful relationships with her patients.
“All aspects of women’s healthcare are rewarding, but I personally enjoy caring for young women with infertility,” Melissa said. “Assisting them and helping them achieve their dream of becoming pregnant is very rewarding.”
