There are so many rewards that come from living or vacationing along the shores of the Delmarva Peninsula. On most people’s top five lists are our stunning sunrises and sunsets. The reds, oranges, golds, pinks and purples that the sky becomes at those times of day can literally stop a person in their tracks. In the case of these two kayak fishers, they appear to be stopped mid-paddle as they made their way back to shore to admire the incredible sunset.

A confession from a sunrise-loving photographer: We have so many beautiful sunrises at the beach, and I often like to add an element or two in the foreground to provide additional interest to the photograph. It often adds a sense of scale, as well. My fiancé often shoots with me, as was the case this particular morning. While he shot the sunrise, he also became part of my composition, which I found to be a very nice addition.

It’s good to see one another again — in person. That’s exactly what a sellout crowd did on the gorgeous grounds of the Delaware Botanic Gardens at Pepper Creek June 16 during its popular, annual Sip and Saunter event. With sponsorship from Dogfish Head Brewery, featuring beer-and-cocktail tasting stations and catering by Good Earth Market, guests meandered through the meadow, with food and beverage in hand, and enjoyed music by Coastal Keys.
