High Point University Interior Design Major and Maryland native Shannon Spilman provides inspiration for designing interiors with warm colors and natural elements
Warm interiors incorporated into coastal living combine the coast’s natural beauty with a comforting and inviting atmosphere. This style often includes a palette of soft neutrals, warm whites and earthy tones—reflecting the surrounding landscape. Natural materials such as wood, rattan and linen, in addition to layering textures like woven rugs, plush cushions and soft lighting, enhance the ambiance. Ultimately, a warm interior is about alleviating the stress of one’s daily life through the use of neutral palettes and textures that evoke a feeling of relaxation.
