When Victoria Swann opened Free Spirit Threads last October, her vision was to give young people in Cambridge a special place to find clothing and accessories. She noticed a gap in the market, and, she says, “I wanted to change that, so I did!” Free Spirit Threads aims to build confidence in the young girls and women who shop there, so every time they leave with a purchase, they feel empowered. 

The boutique’s team includes Swann’s grandparents, Kathi and Mike Swann, along with one of her best friends, Mackenzie Hughes. Inspired by her grandparents’ entrepreneurial spirit, Swann says they guide her in many business decisions. Swann, who graduated high school a year early, is an enterprising teen. During the short time the shop has been open, it has been buzzing with customers who are excited for fine, unique items at great prices.
