With the addition of Gateway Builders to its roster of master craftsmen, one of the East Coast's finest residential communities is likely to get even better

One of the East Coast’s premier residential resorts is right here on the Eastern Shore, and with the news that one of our local builders has been selected to construct homes in its newest neighborhoods, the property stands poised for even greater heights.

Situated on the Chesapeake Bay along Virginia’s Eastern Shore, Bay Creek is more than 1,720 acres of natural beauty and small-town Southern charm. Ten distinct neighborhoods offer a variety of homesites, single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and large estates. Complete with Signature golf courses designed by legends Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, grand amenities such as the Coach House Tavern, Beach Club and Fitness Center, community pools, tennis courts and a 2-mile private beach, to name a few, Bay Creek offers residents and vacationers the ideal resort-lifestyle experience.

The community’s tradition of excellence will be even further enhanced by its new alliance with Gateway Builders and its president, Jason Lambertson, who have been invited to join Bay Creek’s exclusive builders’ guild — a group that includes just four other residential construction companies.

“To have the opportunity to align our priority for quality, beauty and vision in our homes with a development that strives for the same is great for showcasing our custom products,” said Lambertson.

“Bay Creek is excited to have Gateway Builders and Jason Lambertson as a partner in our builders’ guild,” said Linda Buskey, director of sales at Bay Creek. “Jason’s commitment to excellence and customer service is a great fit for the vision of the developers.”

Gateway Builders will begin two new home projects this year at Bay Creek. One is a Southern-traditional home, which will provide great views of the spectacular golf courses. The second is a Grand Hamptons-style Shaker home, which will be situated on the Chesapeake Bay waterfront and offer stunning golf course and panoramic bay views from every angle imaginable.

Bay Creek’s new Bayside Village neighborhood, which Gateway Builders will play a major role in new home construction, is crowned by its 10,000 sq. ft. jewel of a clubhouse. This impressive venue includes a state-of-the-art fitness center, a members’ lounge and swimming pools that offer separate activity areas for adults and children.

“Bayside Village is expected to quickly evolve into the ideal neighborhood environment for primary residents and second homeowners,” said Buskey. “Homes will have welcoming front porches and gathering places throughout the neighborhood.”

For those who haven’t had the opportunity to experience Bay Creek personally, Lambertson said he often describes it and the historic district of Cape Charles as being similar to another popular Eastern Shore town — but with a twist.

“I often compare them with Berlin — but with golf carts for transportation,” said Lambertson with a laugh. “But really, it is a quaint area, with lots of shops, the beach, and Virginia Beach is only minutes away. It is a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the northern and southern beaches, and I can definitely appreciate the slower pace of life. Cape Charles and Bay Creek offer that, and I have often said to many friends and associates that you feel like you have left the Shore when you arrive in the area.”

“This has been a banner year for Bay Creek,” Buskey said. “Construction of custom homes is at an all-time high, with existing lot owners and new buyers from Hampton Roads and the Northeast. It’s easy to find yourself completely at home here.”

With his company now building at multiple points along the Delmarva Peninsula, including Berlin, Easton, Chincoteague and Onancock, Lambertson said his company’s growth provides him with a host of creative building projects.

“It is quite an accomplishment to have our business grow and reach areas like the resorts of Ocean City and Cape Charles,” he said. “They are definitely contrasting environments, but they present exciting opportunities for us to create homes that match each of our customers’ visions.”
