Giving back to the local community is a high priority for Jeff Hamer and Fins Hospitality Group
Jeff Hamer, the proud owner of Fins Hospitality Group, made a splash in the Delaware restaurant scene when he opened the original Fins Fish House & Raw Bar in Rehoboth in 2005. Locals and seasonal visitors immediately flocked to the restaurant for its fresh fish and high-quality raw oysters.
Fins Hospitality Group has since opened six additional dining-and-beverage establishments across Delmarva, including Claws Seafood in Rehoboth, Big Oyster Brewery in Lewes and four additional locations of Fins Ale House & Raw Bar, in Berlin, Bethany and two in Rehoboth.
Big Oyster Brewing, the most recent addition, opened its doors in the fall of 2017. Big Oyster Brewing consistently has 16 unique beers on tap, which are all brewed in-house and available in four-packs, crowlers and growlers. It is open daily for lunch and dinner and serves up a wide-ranging menu, including their popular “Build Your Own Steam Pot.”
As Fins Hospitality Group has extended their footprint across the Delmarva area, their primary focus has remained the same: Family comes first. Whether you are a first-time diner or a weekly regular, Fins Hospitality Group considers you family, and they will make certain you are treated as such.
Behind the scenes, the family environment is just as evident. Jeff strives to maintain long-lasting working relationships with all Fins’ employees, which in turn has produced a very loyal workforce. Alicia Bacchi (chief financial officer) and Briana Rovinskie (director of operations) are longstanding members of the Fins family.
Executive Chef Max Sopinskyy started at Fins years ago and has evolved into a role in which he now oversees back-of-house operations at all Fins Hospitality Group establishments. Mike Anderson, Big Oyster Brewery’s Beer Director, began working at Fins as a teenager 10 years ago and has grown into his current role of managing all aspects of beer sales, distribution and brand expansion.
Giving back to the local community is a high priority at Fins Hospitality Group. Their recent charitable contributions include monthly Meals on Wheels donations, Make a Difference Mondays and a crab feast for USO Delaware members.
In the future, Fins Hospitality Group plans to continue expanding across the Eastern Shore while maintaining their family culture and readiness to give back to their local community.
