The accomplishments are unignorable. The reputation is unimpeachable. The service is unsurpassable. They are RPS ISG International, a Cambridge-based insurance agency with a client list that includes everything from businesses across Delmarva to national IT firms to U.S. state governments. With a track record of credibility and professionalism that is second to none, they not only provide sophisticated insurance risk management and the full array of property and casualty coverage, they’re considered national experts in privacy/data-breach insurance coverage, known as Cyber Liability. Additionally, RPS ISG International is known far and wide for its real-world employee-benefits solutions and human-resources consulting. The result is an elite agency that has emerged as an industry leader on a national level, one that regularly leads seminars and symposia in which their experts teach other insurance professionals from around the United States how to do their jobs better and more effectively.
But for all their corporate accomplishments, founder Phil Feldman and president Steve Robinson would be the first to tell you that the chief asset of RPS ISG International is its amazing staff.
“It’s because we hire only the best and the brightest people that we’ve established such a consistent and enduring reputation for excellence,” Feldman offered. “Once we’ve found and hired them, we then make sure we treat them really well so that they stay with us a long time and are happy at their jobs. The result is that the tenure of our senior leadership team, for example, can be measured in decades rather than years. That level of contentment and continuity combine to make all the difference in the final product.”
The next generation of leaders is already in place. This current team of service-first executives includes many who embody the talent, expertise and customer dedication that guarantees this unique agency will remain at the pinnacle of its industry for a long time to come. Let’s meet two of them:
Karri B. Todd
Senior Business Analyst
Karri provides risk-management solutions for businesses via various commercial insurance products, including property and general liability, workers’ compensation, management liability, professional liability and privacy liability, among others. She also works with employee supervisors to implement risk-management procedures that may help protect a company’s “bottom line.” To stay at the top of her game, Karri attended the Chubb Insurance Advanced Producer Development School and invests 24 hours of continuing education every two years.
The ability to help CFOs and CEOs decipher difficult insurance policy language is just one reason Karri is considered so good at her job. She is also a consummate pro at identifying and managing risk, which includes everything from fire to rogue employees stealing client information. She provides this invaluable service to businesses and companies of greatly disparate sizes, knowing precisely when to control those risks through either insurance products or self-insurance, including how much capital is advisable in the case of the latter. Additionally, Karri is skilled in disaster-recovery planning as well as keeping a business running and profitable in the event of a loss.
A Dorchester County resident, Karri has a husband and an 8-year-old daughter. She’s involved in both the Salisbury and Dorchester chambers of commerce as well as Junior Achievement yet finds time to lead an all-girls program for third though fifth graders called “GoGirlsGo,” which promotes active and healthy living. In addition to participating in an
annual 150-mile bike ride for the National MS Society and several MS fundraising events, Karri is a founder and co-leader of a 4-H horseback-riding group for kids ages 5-17. Karri’s riding group also offers weekly therapeutic horseback-riding sessions for disabled youth.
Brad Sutliffe
Director of Employee Benefit Solutions
Right after college, Brad was the first management trainee when the Hyatt opened in Cambridge. He feels that experience in the service industry has been very important to his current job, as it instilled the recognition that one must deliver on promises if they are to keep clients satisfied.
Brad possesses license designations in life and health insurance as well as property and casualty. He recently attained his Life and Health Advisor’s license, as well as his certification for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Brad helps local businesses navigate the complex world of employee benefits, including group medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability. He instructs and coaches business owners, executives and human-resources professionals to design and implement a benefits program customized for that particular business. Philosophically, Brad feels the most successful collaborations occur when he and the client share similar views of employee value, community involvement and emerging technology.
Brad resides in Salisbury with his wife, Kristi, and their two children, Nate and Emme. Brad is very involved in the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce and the Salisbury Sunrise Rotary Club; he is a current member and past board member of the Eastern Shore Society of Human Resource Management and is the current president of the Eastern Shore Association of Health Underwriters. He was recently selected the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore’s “Dorchester County Volunteer of the Year” for his fundraising and support of the Imagination Library program.
