Overture Ultimate Home Electronics created a technology-filled environment for a Lewes homeowner that provides function and convenience

It would appear that the consummate techno-wizards of Overture Ultimate Home Electronics have done it again. When a very important client of Echelon Custom Homes recently requested a top-to-bottom home-automation system—tricked out with a home theater for each of its three levels— the esteemed Rehoboth Beach builder knew just who to call.
Though the incredible project would ultimately reach into every nook and cranny of the
more than 6,000 sq. ft. upscale-coastal beach-style house in Lewes, its de facto centerpiece comes in the form of a first-level dedicated home theater. There, Overture’s main maestro, Mike Patille, and the renowned Overture design team, created a 432 sq. ft. home-entertainment masterpiece that includes front-projection technology and a 100-inch LED flat-screen TV complimented by a 7.1 surround-sound system. There is sumptuous extra-wide seating for eight, laden with soft fabrics and distressed leather (which elegantly capture the ambiance of the client’s Texas roots), while splashes of marine décor on vertical surfaces pay homage to their adopted home on the Eastern Shore. The room’s scrupulous lighting scheme was also designed and installed by Overture.
As you head to the second level, you are greeted by an expansive granite-topped full-service bar sporting its own 32-inch LED. But this is just prologue to the bright and bay-view blessed “rec room,” which offers a card table and pool table in addition to generous leisure seating. Situated right off its stately natural stacked-stone foyer, the rec room boasts another 7.1 surround-sound system to accompany the 60-inch flat-screen LED TV. The most amazing aspect of this deployment is the remote-control electronic screen-placement apparatus, which both telescopes and changes the angle of the screen so that direct viewing is possible from anywhere in the room. Throughout the home, surround-sound functions are activated and controlled by tablet PCs, whereas distributed audio comes from wall-mounted touch-screen LCDs that also control lighting, HVAC and security systems. This particular home-automation system is powered by the illustrious Elan g! system, though Patille reports he enjoys equal facility with all the major systems currently on the market. He added that of late he’s been getting extremely encouraging results from the Apple-based Savant home-automation system, which he said he intends to deploy with greater frequency going forward.
On the third level sits the home’s family area, which includes a spacious open kitchen and dining area. Once again a 7.1 surround-sound system teams with a 60-inch flat-screen LED (with an integrated sub-screen sound bar), but this set-up features a picture-frame motif with a beautiful, remote-control roll-up print screen that acts as fine-art camouflage until its TV time for the family. Patille’s punctilious A/V architecture, meanwhile, is perched majestically over the room’s natural stacked-stone fireplace. But Mike hasn’t forgotten the home’s great outdoors, which he wired to include a full 10 speakers, four of which come in the form of discreet planter speakers, while the balance are deftly merged into the ceilings by aluminum-grill flush-mounted units, which repel the corrosive effects of a salt-air climate. The master suite’s 46-inch flat-screen LED with automated screen
positioning, nestled between opulent chandelier-like wall sconces over the fireplace, rounds out the magnificent home’s high-tech A/V treatment.
“Overture [Ultimate Home Electronics] may not have been the first company I’ve used for these jobs, but they really are the best,” praised Matt Adler of Echelon Custom Homes, “and it’s for three basic reasons. First, they can handle any job, no matter big or small. Second, they have a level of expertise and sophistication that is uncommon for this area.
Third, they echo our own philosophy when it comes to customer service, which is that
the job isn’t done until the customer’s expectations have been completely fulfilled or exceeded, refusing to move on until the customer is not just satisfied but actually thrilled with the final result. That’s what Overture has brought to the table for every job I’ve hired them to do.”
Founded nearly 20 years ago, Overture has received several awards for excellence, gaining both national and international recognition in the process. They offer consumers the opportunity to experience their state-of-the-art equipment at their location in Wilmington and brand-new showroom in Rehoboth Beach, which they opened to better serve their growing client base.
